Standing Before God — Do not become weary!

Standing Before God — Do not grow weary!

Some of the most exciting and eventful days in history are before us as we near the coming of the day of the Lord. We are observing many signs and fulfillments of prophecy that show us the harvest is near. Many prophets of God who spoke about these days told us, “Do not become weary…” There is a consistent theme that the Holy Spirit is conveying. It is imperative for us to persevere and keep the faith as we await the harvest that is before us.

Galatians 6:9 NKJV And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

When I was a child I spent several summers with my grandparents on the farm. Grandpa spent much of his time from sunrise to sunset in the fields preparing the ground and planting seed diligently preparing for the harvest. With great patience and diligent labor, he waited and worked for the due season when the crops were ready to harvest.

What we do while we wait for the harvest is very important.

My grandpa was waiting for a harvest of cotton, watermelon, fruits and vegetables. We are awaiting the due season when we shall reap the eternal harvest in the presence of God.

Hebrews 10:35–36 NKJV Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

Hebrews 10:37–38 NKJV For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.

This is not a time to be letting up, drawing back or becoming weary. It is the time to be encouraging one another to keep on holding on for our due season is at hand. There are many things said about this, but just look at this one in Galatians 6:7-10.

Galatians 6:7–8 NKJV Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Galatians 6:9 NKJV And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Listen to those encouraging words: “Do not grow weary while you wait.” A due season of harvest, blessing and eternal reward is coming, so, don’t grow weary while doing good and do not lose heart.

Isaiah 40:31 NKJV But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Those who patiently wait on the Lord with hope and expectation in Him are going to be renewed in strength and power. Very soon we are going to mount up as eagles and we shall stand before the Lord our God. The message is still true, “your confidence has great reward.” If you are growing weary, you have need of strength, renewal and endurance. Endurance tells us that after we have done the will of God, we will receive the promise. Everyone wants to receive what God has promised. You need endurance for the Lord is coming and will not tarry. It always amazed me on the farm how long and tenuous the due season of harvest seemed, but when the day came and the fields were ripe, the reward and blessings began flowing in. Your due season for blessing and reward is going to happen quickly. A large portion of our ministry has been around farmers. Many times I would ask them, “How is the harvest looking?” I heard everything from, “it doesn’t look good,” to “it may be a poor harvest,” to “looking good so far.” It always amazed me when the due season for harvest came that it usually was more than expected. You should know that “the LORD is at hand.” He is not far away and is not unnecessarily delaying His coming. Very soon, He will come and not tarry.

How do we build up our endurance while we wait?

You need to know that the Lord is near and His reward is with Him. God is watching you and is attentive to everything that is happening. God is faithful to what He has said and He will hasten His word to perform it. If He made a promise, He will fulfill it. You may not pay attention to what He said, but God will not allow His precepts to be set aside. His precepts are His laws, His words, and His promises. Our God is a supernatural God and He is able to do what He said He would do. Don’t become deceived, deluded, or misled, because the Lord our God is a faithful God.

Look at this.

Galatians 6:8 The person who “sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

How do we sow to the Spirit? We sow to the Spirit when we invest in our own spiritual growth. You cannot expect to reap the harvest if you do not sow. I never wanted to be a farmer when I watched my grandpa labor and toil to put seed in the ground. It took too much patience and labor to put the seed in the ground and then to wait for harvest.

God says “we will reap.”

This is where endurance comes in.

Galatians 6:9 NKJV And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

God is extravagant in this area.

God has done everything possible to insure that what He has said will happen. Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price on Mount Calvary to guarantee that this will happen. He suffered, bled, and died to purchase your redemption, salvation, and healing. He arose from the grave to justify, sanctify, and glorify us. He justified us by taking away our sins. He sanctified us to give us His righteousness. He arose to certify that our bodies will be resurrected and glorified. God says you are going to reap in due time and at the appointed season. The good news is, reaping comes because God is faithful.

The Lord our God is a supernatural God.

He knows how to make things happen when it does not seem possible.

In 1 Kings 17:12 a widow woman said, “all I have is a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

Elijah said, “Do not fear”…the Lord says “the bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry.”

The Lord our God is a supernatural God.

In 2 Kings 4:1 A certain widow woman came to Elisha and said she had a debt she could not pay and “the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”

She did not know what to do because all she had left in the house was a jar of oil. He told her to go and borrow as many empty vessels from all her neighbors as you can. Then he told her to pour the oil into those vessels. She kept pouring until every vessel was full.

The Lord our God is a supernatural God.

Galatians 6:9 When God says – “let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart,” He has the answer prepared for you.

You don’t have to know how God is going to work everything out and bring the harvest. You just need to know that God is a supernatural God and in due season you will reap.

Isaiah 42:5–6 NKJV Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You…

The Lord God Almighty has been extravagant in His preparations for your harvest.

He says, “You will reap if you do not lose heart.”

It may feel like your prayers will never be answered. It feels like you have endured and waited as long as you can. Don’t grow weary and faint. Don’t give up now.

God wants you to know your “due season” is coming.

When it arrives, you are going to reap a harvest. We are told that some who will grow weary and quit. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, we are told, “that day will not come unless the falling away comes first.”

What is God telling you?

He is saying, “don’t give up now.” He is saying, “keep the faith.” He is telling you, “do not fear” and “do not grow weary and faint.”

Your due season is coming.

God is telling His church this because He knows something that we don’t know. The Lord may be near and the answer may be on the doorstep. The battle may almost be over and the devil is already defeated and the harvest is about ready.

Your due season is coming.

Hebrews 10:35–37 NKJV Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:  “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.”

It will not be long now because the almighty and powerful God is working on this right now. The answer is on the way. God has planned and prepared this moment of victory for you.

Standing Before God

Do not grow weary…

for in due season we shall reap.
