Renew — Trust in the Lord
There is power, strength and life in Christ that can be found nowhere else. When we are connected to Him, many amazing things begin happening in our life, spirit and soul. Christ in you produces strength, resilience, and a new vitality of life everlasting. Your connection to Christ enables you to resist the enemy in the time of crisis and continue standing firmly in faith.
Jesus Christ is a strong foundation and source of your stability and continuance. He is our source of life and resilience that enables us to remain vibrant even in the face of drought or life’s storms. He is the source of our confidence and hope so that we do not fear or become anxious or worried.
Renew trust in the Lord.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
How much can you trust the Lord?
In John 15, Jesus was showing our connection with Him. Our connection serves as the source of life, that provides us with everything necessary to fully experience the abundant blessings bestowed upon us by Him.
Jesus said, John 15:5 NKJV I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Listen closely to this.
He did not say “without Me you can do little.” He said “you can do nothing.” These words expose our total dependence on the LORD and reveal the value of trusting Him in every situation of life. Jesus is the lifeline that holds you safe regardless of what life may bring. A lifeline is somewhat like an anchor for a ship in the time of a storm. When the anchor holds, the ship is kept safe from being tossed and driven by the raging storm.
Hebrews 6:19 “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where Jesus has entered for us…”
Jesus is the ANCHOR for your soul that is both sure and steadfast. Our ANCHOR is an unshakable and unbreakable lifeline that holds our souls to God. Your ANCHOR is fastened to the mercy seat in the heavenly realm where Jesus always intercedes for us before the throne of God.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
The challenge to strong trust is getting past our own understanding. Can you trust Christ to sustain you when the storms of life rage? Can you trust Him when you do not see the way clearly? Can you trust Him when your strength fails?
After God told Noah that He was going to destroy the earth and everything in it, the Lord God Almighty provided an ARK of safety.
God gave Noah clear instructions on how he would be able to build an ark to shelter his life and family. Remember that this was the first time Noah had built an ark or had seen water cover the earth.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart.
Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den.
He had faithfully served the Lord his God, praying three times a day. When King Darius cast him into the den of lions, he did not know that Daniel had a Life-Line that would keep him safe.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego refused to forsake the Lord their God.
King Nebuchadnezzar issued a decree that everyone should bow down and worship his image. Anyone who refused would be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. When they refused to bend or bow, they were cast into the midst of the fiery furnace. They had a Lifeline that came to them in the midst of the fire.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart.
Look at that phrase: “In all your ways acknowledge Him.”
The word “acknowledge” comes from the Hebrew word דָּעָה [yaw·dah]. It means “to know, perceive, know by experience, to recognize, admit.” In all your ways take note of how the Lord is with you and is helping you. Pay attention to the fact that He is sustaining you and giving you life. Admit the fact of His intervention, help, and strength. Acknowledge that His mighty arms are holding you and keeping you safe.
We have an unbreakable ANCHOR holding our souls.
When you truly acknowledge Him in all your ways, you begin recognizing the strength of His life that is coming to you. You are revitalized by the power of His might. This acknowledgment of His presence and help gives you boldness and confidence. His Spirit and life brings healing refreshment to your body, mind, and spirit. This
acknowledgedrecognizes that every increase comes from Him. You know that He is the One that is keeping you and giving you strength. The overflow of blessing that enters every dimension of your life originates from His abundant source.
Watch where this trust and acknowledgment takes you.
“And He shall direct your paths” illustrates His intervention in our future.
This takes the stress of what is impacting you and puts it upon the Lord. You can know that He has not only kept you but that He will not fail you regardless of what comes. Trusting and acknowledging is a recognition of the Lord’s presence and help in every situation. If you are facing darkness and confusion, stop trying to “lean on your own understanding,” and start acknowledging how the Lord is helping you.
David’s Psalms of ascents were sung as people were on their journey to the house of the Lord.
In Psalms 124, David sang “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side…” Then he recited several things that came against them.
Psalm 124:2-5 NKJV If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men rose up against us, Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us; Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul; Then the swollen waters would have gone over our soul.
You need to acknowledge the power of Christ that is working in your life.
God has provided every spiritual blessing that you are going to need in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:3 NKJV Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
Consider the depth of every blessing and favor. Do you recognize how totally dependent you are on your connection to Him? Christ is always greater than your need, but your help depends on your connection to Him. He has the answer you need, but you must remain in touch with Him. You cannot get help from Him if you have no connection with Him. Likewise, you can never draw more than what is available.
The good news is found in Philippians 4:19 “My God can supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
In Christ Jesus resides the essence of life, the source of blessings, favor, and righteousness. Isaiah had a revelation of the depth of Christ’s intervention in your life.
Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely He took up our pain and bore our sorrows… He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for out iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
When He took us up and carried us, He became our Savior, Healer, and Life.
Renew… Trust in the LORD
Do you see what God is doing in us?
He is bringing us together in Christ and what He is. He is bringing His life force into us and giving us His victory, strength and power.
We need to acknowledge everything that He is to us. He is the substance of our continuation. He is the permanence of our hope. He is the basis of our standing. He is the essence of our sustenance. He is the sum of our expectation. He is the foundation of our existence. He is the guarantee of the perseverance of our soul. He is the root and the ground of our life. He is the focus of our faith.

Whatever you are going through is not greater than the Lord can handle. You can trust Him with your body, soul and mind. You can trust His healing power. You can trust His keeping power. You can trust the LORD. His throne is eternal. His power is almighty. His glory is rich. His bounty is from everlasting to everlasting and is full of heaven’s blessing.
