1-2-3 John series addresses the letters John wrote to the early church.

John begins this epistle by saying we were eye witnesses of Jesus Christ.
John is showing believers the requirement to fellowship God in light.
Those who fellowship and really know God keep His commandments.
The second test to show that we know God is, “We love one another.”
The third test that we know God is, “Are you growing spiritually?”
If we really know and love God, we do not love the world or the things in the world.
We can know that we know God when we hold to the truth and guard against antichrists.
We are assured that we know God if the truth abides in us and if we abide in Christ.
God has made it possible for anyone in the whole world to know and experience the benefit of His love.
Since you have become His child, God’s seed remains in you.
When we are made God’s children, we are marked or changed by our relationship with God.
Assurance before God is the confidence that we have that we are not condemned.
Just after talking about the assurance of believers, John says we have the Holy Spirit inside
Evidence of our connection with God is revealed by love manifested toward one another.
1 John 5, begins with the dramatic change that occurs when one believes that Jesus is the Christ and are born of God.
In his last two letters, John addressed truth and error as the church was challenged by false teaching and an antichrist spirit.
