Living in His Fullness

When we entered into this new life in Christ, everything began changing. Our fellowship with Christ brought us out of the kingdom and life of darkness.

John 5:24 NKJV Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

In Christ, we have truly found a life full of love, joy, and peace.

Every expression of God’s goodness has been given to us in our fellowship with Christ. The word fellowship may not express the full impact of what has happened. When we were saved, we were brought into the very life and fullness that dwells in Christ. That quality of life is everlasting, abundant and free. It is full of the grace, mercy and love of the Father. When we consider our connection to Christ, we find His unfailing mercy supplies all our need. Our connection and faith in Jesus has made it possible for us to have inexpressible joy and full glory as a result of the salvation of our souls.

Consider the full blessing that we have in Christ.

Colossians 2:9-10 NKJV For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

We have been considering the various illustrations Jesus presented of our new life, connection and fellowship with Him.

  • Jesus said He is the Vine and we are the branches that receive life, sustenance, and vitality through our abiding connection with Him. When we abide in Him, everything that is at His disposal has been provided for us.
  • He is the Head and we are the body of Christ. His wisdom, power, authority and mind superintends and governors our life. The life and authority that is in the Head of the church works in us.
  • We are the bride of Christ that has been made clean and ready for the day we shall see Him in all His glory. Consider the preparation that has been made to make us fit and complete to be ready for His glory. We have been clothed in His righteousness and we are clean.
  • He is the Foundation and we are living stones that are being built up for a habitation of our God. What He has established, Satan cannot destroy. He is a sure Foundation for our lives. On this Rock we can stand and the gates of hell cannot prevail against us.

Every illustration presents meaning, security, life, help, hope, satisfaction… from living in His fellowship and fullness. The bounty of His blessings are overwhelming. His abundant life is surging through us and giving us life. We are quickened and made alive through His Spirit that abides and works in us.

We are nearing the spring of the year.

During this season, we begin noticing the budding of new life in all manner of plants and animals. It is the time of the year when everything seems to spring with new life. Years ago we lived in the mid-west. Often during this time of the year, the ground would still be covered with snow. I remember many seasons when the snow would melt, the grass would already be green and the flowers would be budding. For months plants and animals were inactive and looked dead. All of a sudden, we went from a time of dormancy and death into new life.

Something greater than spring has happened in us. We have received newness of life in Christ. This life that we have received from Him does not depend on a season of life. As long as we remain in Him and He remains in us, we are partakers of His fullness.

Psalm 1:3 NKJV He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

We are like a tree that has been firmly planted and tended. Provision has been made so that you shall prosper and have abundant life in Christ. Everything that you will ever need has been achieved and given to us in Christ Jesus.

What does this mean?

There is life in Christ. We have passed from a life of death into new life in Christ. We have full and overflowing joy in Christ. In Christ we have found peace that is beyond understanding. We have cleansing and freedom in Christ. The burden of our old life and sinful estate are rolled away in Christ. We have been made partakers of His nature and victory.

2 Peter 1:1-2 NKJV To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

Have you started experiencing that multiplication of grace and peace? When you started out in this life of faith in God and our Savior Jesus Christ, the flood gates of God’s grace and peace were opened. Whatever God has accomplished in giving His Son is being realized in those who put their full trust and faith in Him. You need to see what this has supplied for us.

2 Peter 1:3 NKJV As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,

When you were called into the fellowship of Jesus Christ the Son of God, His divine power has deposited and made available all things that pertain to life and godliness. As you continue growing in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, the flood gates of His blessing and favor are opened.

Notice what His divine power has given to us.

By His power, He has given all things that pertain to life and godliness. These things relate to the nature and character of Christ working in you. Everything that you need to live and have spiritual vitality and productivity. The deposit has already been made and is available for withdrawal any time you make a demand.

Are you facing attack? The resource for your victory is deposited. Are you sick and in pain? The resource for your healing is available. Are you struggling with compromising morality? The blood for your cleansing has already been applied. Through the provision that is in Christ, we are enabled to be the manner of persons we ought to be in all holy conduct and godliness.

2 Peter 1:4 NKJV By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Think about this. What God has done for you through Jesus Christ has made it possible for you to be a partaker of the divine nature.

What does that mean? You can freely receive everything that Jesus Christ achieved when He conquered death and the grave. As a result of His victory, God has given us exceedingly great and precious promises. To assure that we are partakers of His nature and victory, we have been given exceedingly great and precious promises. When God makes a promise, you can count on it happening. He has certified and guaranteed that you will be made a partaker of the goodness of Jesus Christ.

Have you paid attention to the things that God promised you could partake of in Christ? If God has made these promises, we should press forward to receive them.

1 Peter 5:1 says, we are a partaker of the glory that will be revealed when the Chief Shepherd appears, and you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

1 Corinthians 9:10 says, we would be partaker of His hope.

Romans 11:17 tells us, we are partakers of the root and fatness of the olive tree.

Colossians 1:12 tells us, we are qualified to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.

In Hebrews 3:1, we are partakers of a heavenly calling.

In Hebrews 3:14, we have become partakers of Christ.

In Hebrews 12:10, we are partakers of His holiness.

In 2 Peter 1:4, we are made partakers of His divine nature.

Your new life in Christ is filled with His fullness.

We have been given access to share in His fullness. As you evaluate your access and fellowship with Jesus Christ the Son of God, you will find out why it is called abundant life. God does not want you to just know that this life is available, He wants each of you to be born in and live in the victory that overcomes the world. This new life in Christ is not just freedom from the bondage and curse of our old sinful estate. It is fellowship in the bountiful provision that is in Christ. We have received a charter, contract and an agreement to the privileges that belong to Christ. You have been given a title deed to great and precious promises. This victorious new life in Christ is full and free. All of the promises of God in Christ are Yes and Amen to the glory of God through us, (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Whatever God has promised in Christ is going to happen.

  • The stripes and wounds in His hands, feet and side procure everything we need.
  • His suffering, humiliation, and shame provide righteousness and reconciliation.
  • His resurrection and ascension secure the promise for life eternal. There is enough for you in Christ.

By faith you can receive Christ and in Christ it is finished.

You can find full forgiveness and righteousness in Him. You can enter into rest from your works in Christ. You are made perfect and complete with nothing lacking in Him. The robe of your righteousness is all about Christ. In Him, you are safe and secure.

Everyone who puts their faith and trust in Him are fully supplied in Christ.

Every demand for salvation, holiness, and righteousness is satisfied in Him. We are enabled to live in victory in Christ. In Him is the victory that overcomes every evil thing. Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places are richly supplied for us in Christ.

Your soul cannot be satisfied until it is full.

There is nothing that can fill the whole man but Jesus. He is El Shaddai — the Lord all sufficient. In Him is pleasure evermore. In Him is satisfaction. When Christ Who is our life appears, you also will appear with Him in glory and joys for evermore. Only Jesus can satisfy your soul. His peace, joy and victory are ours. The love toward us is perfected in Him. His wisdom is ours. His mind is ours. We have been given the mind of Christ. His might, authority, and power is ours.

Whatever you are facing right now, Christ is the answer.

He is sufficient to meet your greatest demand or need. What have you come up against?Has the adversary been buffeting your body and mind? Jesus Christ’s power is enough to defeat every adversary that rises against you. He can cover you with His righteousness and cleanse you with His blood. His almighty power is able to bear your greatest burden and break your greatest fear. Put your trust in the Lord. Cast your burden on Him and He will sustain you. He is more than enough!
