Throughout the Bible, God revealed the power of the blood of Christ that procures wonderful blessings and changes. There is enough power in the blood of Jesus Christ to change your life. The ultimate revelation of the power of the blood of Christ is seen in the multitude of the redeemed from every tribe, tongue, people and nation around the throne, (Revelation 5:9).

In the Old Testament, we begin seeing the impact and power of the blood.

The sacrifices of Abel, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, the Passover lamb, and the giving of the Law required the shedding of blood, (Hebrews 9:7, NKJV).

  • The sacrifice of Abel from his flocks provided access and acceptable worship to God. Through the blood of the sacrifice, Able pleased God. Without the shedding of blood, Cain’s offering was not acceptable before God.
  • After the flood, Noah entered into a new beginning, but it was not without blood.
  • The blessing and covenant with Abraham was accomplished by the shedding of blood. Before the blessing could come down on Isaac, God had to provide a ram as a substitute for Isaac’s life.
  • After 400 years, Isaac’s decedents were in Egyptian bondage. They found they could not escape Egypt without the blood of the lamb. God’s promise, grace, and omnipotent power could not dispense with the necessity of shedding blood.

From Genesis through the Revelation the words “the blood” is repeated to demonstrate the power of the blood to bring changes.

The blood of the covenant is a testimony of the changes that God would make through the the power of the blood of Christ.

The power of the blood of Jesus provides everything you need to live a life of victory, including redemption, fellowship, healing, protection and authority over the devil.

Redemption

1 Peter 1:18-19 NKJV “You were not redeemed with corruptible things… but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

Ephesians 1:7 NKJV “We have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins…”

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, everything changed.

With one trespass death reigned, and suddenly everything was cursed and man was separated from God. God had a plan to reconcile, cleanse, sanctify, restore fellowship and bring victory over Satan. All of this would be accomplished by redemption through the blood of Christ. Throughout the Old Testament, sacrifices were made that provided a temporary reprieve from the curse. The curse brought death, sickness, disease, lack, and all of the consequences of sin. In Leviticus 17:10, God gave “the blood of the sacrifice upon the altar to make atonement for their souls…” The blood of the atonement offered to God has redemptive power.

If the blood of a lamb offered on the altar to God had such power, how much more redemptive power does the blood of Christ have to change us.

Redemption through the blood of Christ has power to change and conquer everything that the curse of sin brought. Christ’s blood has power to destroy the power of death, the devil and hell. The blood of Christ provides resurrection power and life. His blood makes a complete end of the power of sin, death, and hell.

Included in this redemptive power of the blood is open access to God.

Ephesians 2:13 NKJV But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

In the Old Testament, the High Priest alone was able to enter into the most holy place with the blood. But now in Christ Jesus, we have been brought near to God by the blood of Christ.

Fellowship with God

Hebrews 10:19 NKJV …Having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus.

Before the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, they enjoyed open fellowship with God.

It was a dramatic change when sin separated them and us from fellowship with God. Their sin and transgression brought condemnation, made them unclean, and exiled them from God.

There is amazing power in the blood of Christ that is able to cross the boundaries that sin has created.

We were excluded from God’s presence, mercy, and grace until the blood of Christ brought us near. This fellowship with God is a result of the power of the blood of Christ to reconcile us to God. Reconciliation is the power of the blood of Christ to bring us back into fellowship with God. Sin destroyed this, but the blood of Jesus Christ has power to change what sin destroyed.

1 John 1:7 NKJV But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

When our sins are covered by the blood of Jesus, our guilt, shame, and uncleanness are removed and we can draw near to God. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. There is a dramatic change when we are clean before God. In the Revelation, the Lord says, “They shall walk with me in white for they are worthy.” (Revelation 3:4) This is a demonstration of how the blood of Christ can cleanse us from every stain of sin and give us access and fellowship with God. Only the blood of Christ can make that change in us.

We are not only made clean and given access, the blood of Jesus provides healing.

Healing Through the Blood of Jesus

Isaiah 53:5 NKJV He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Jesus’ sacrifice covers every area of our lives.

He bore wounds for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities and guilt. So that we may have peace, He was chastised. By His stripes we are healed.

Jesus’ sacrifice and blood covers every part of the curse.

You need more than forgiveness and cleansing of sins. The blood of Jesus has made it possible for you to be healed. The blood of Jesus Christ is powerful. Don’t settle for less than what has been provided through His blood and sacrifice. Press on in to receive healing for your body, peace for your soul and cleansing for your sins.

Protection

Exodus 12:13 KJV When I see the blood, I will pass over you.

After nine devastating plagues, Pharaoh still refused to let God’s people go. God sent one final plague to smite the firstborn in Egypt, (Exodus 12:12). The only protection for Abraham’s seed was the covering and protection of the blood. God instructed them to take the blood of a lamb and put it on the doorposts of their house. The blood offered protection. There is a greater blood that offers better protection.

The blood of Jesus Christ has power in several areas.

It has power in heaven, on earth and in hell. It has power in the natural world and in the spiritual world. The blood of Jesus Christ has power over man and angels. The blood of Jesus has power over principalities, powers and rulers of darkness and the hosts of spiritual wickedness. The blood of Jesus Christ has power over sin, sickness, and death. The blood of Jesus impacts eternity and our daily lives. The blood of Jesus Christ has power before God.

The power of the blood of the Lamb of God is inexhaustible and never-ending.

When you speak the name of Jesus in the face of sickness, disease or danger, the blood of the Lamb is behind it, and you are protected!

Authority Over the Devil Through the Blood of Jesus

Revelation 12:11 NKJV And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…

The blood of the cross of Christ is a powerful and effective force against the power of sin and Satan.

Jesus suffered, died and spilled His blood on the cross to defeat the power of sin and give you His new life. Through Christ’s cross and blood, you can have victory over the power of sin. His sacrifice on the cross won the victory.

“Those whom the Son has set free are free indeed.”

If you are standing on the value and meaning of the precious blood of Christ… the accuser is cast down and defeated. You have been made an overcomer in Christ and you can stand in Christ’s victory.

We are made an overcomer by the precious blood of Jesus.

We overcome because we refuse to move from the ground of our justification through His blood. We refuse to compromise where Christ has gained victory. The blood of Christ is the basis, confidence, and substance we stand upon. We stand redeemed, cleansed, washed, adopted and protected.

This is the ultimate power of the blood of Jesus Christ to bring change.

Jesus went to the cross and suffered, bled, and died to destroy the devil and his power. Revelation 12:11 talks about the ultimate victory we gain over Satan. You need to know that you have authority through the blood of Christ.

Matthew 18:18 NKJV Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

What Jesus did through the cross, has provided victory over Satan. You need to learn to stand by the virtue of the blood of Christ.

We need to make some bold declarations.

  • “I have been brought out of darkness and death.”
  • “I have been redeemed from Satan’s power.”
  • “Satan has no hold on me.”
  • “I am a child of the King.”
  • “The blood of Jesus Christ has redeemed, cleansed, brought me near to God, and has given me victory and authority over Satan.”
