Connected — Confidently Kept

Connected — Confidently Kept

David composed several Psalms expressing his deep connection with the Lord and the unwavering peace and assurance he felt knowing that he was confidently kept safe. At times, he sang psalms about the LORD’s extensive knowledge of everything in his life. He said, “You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up.” He testified that “You, O LORD, know my path, my lying down, and all my ways.” “You enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.” The Psalmist had this confidence because he knew that there was no place he could go from the presence and Spirit of God. He was held securely and was confidently kept.

Colossians 3:3 says, “Your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

That word “hidden” means to hide, conceal, escape notice, or to conceal so that it may not become known. Your Christian life is not dictated by this world, you are hidden in Christ. Hidden presents a permanent condition created by God in Christ. This preservation of the saints is a by-product of God’s love for you that is revealed in Christ. There is a place of safety that you can find in the LORD Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul spoke to the early church about this connection and being confidently kept in Christ.

Romans 8:35 NKJV Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Romans 8:37–39 NKJV Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There is a place of safety where we are confidently kept in Christ. Consider this in relation to what the Lord said in John 10.

John 10:27-29  NKJV My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.  And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

The saints of God are not destined and doomed to eternal death, but life and joy in God’s presence. By Christ, we are wonderfully preserved, kept safe, and reserved for the day we shall be glorified and revealed with Christ. That glorious day of the LORD is coming when we shall be changed and shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is.

We have been considering the blessing of being connected to the Lord Jesus Christ.

This connection with Christ brings every kind of spiritual blessing and this confidence that we are kept safe in Christ. If you abide in Christ, the blessings of His favor flows to and through you. His sustaining power is exemplified in our lives, and as a result, we dwell in the triumph that overcomes the world. We know that we are kept and rejoice in the result of what God has achieved through Christ’s victory.

Pay attention to what Jesus is saying.

Satan is going to attempt to snatch you away from this place where you are confidently kept, but Jesus said, “No one is able to snatch them out of My hand or My Father’s hand.” This gives us double confidence that we are kept safe.

Listen carefully to the prophecy of Isaiah.

Isaiah 59:19 AMP So [as the result of the Messiah’s intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun.

Isaiah 59:20 AMP When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]. He shall come as a Redeemer… to those …who turn from transgression, says the Lord.

You can enjoy this place of confident assurance in Christ.

When you know that you are connected to Him, you have found the place where your life is hidden with Christ in God, (Colossians 3:3).

This is a place of safety, amazing grace and divine favor. It is a place of shelter and confidence. This is the place where we are shielded from the attack of Satan because we are covered by the blood of Christ. This place is so secure that we can know that we are kept to be presented to God in the last days.

I am confident that you have felt the winds and sway of the adversary who would attempt to pull you from this place of confidence and safety.

You can rest assured that Jesus Christ triumphed over every scheme and device of Satan when He died on the cross and arose from the grave in victory. We have profound confidence that we are included in His victory.

Consider the greatness of God’s power for us who believe in Him, (Ephesians 1:19-22).

This mighty power was made evident when God raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven.

Have you taken into account that you were raised with Christ into His victory?

Almighty God has exercised extreme power to bring you into Christ’s victory where we are kept by the power of God. There is no greater power than God’s power. When we are saved, we are guarded and covered by His keeping power. When we are healed, we are kept in Christ. When we are delivered, we are kept in Christ. You should praise God for His grace and mercy that brought you in.

Isaiah 43:1–2  NKJV Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

You cannot reason out how God does this. God knows how to keep you in Christ until the day that we all shall be presented to Him in victory. You need to make a conscious effort to stay in Christ Jesus. You need to walk in faith and victory. You need to walk in obedience to the faith. You need to resist every temptation and trial. You need to keep yourself in the faith. Stay connected to Christ. Your walk of faith will always lead you into victory because it always trusts and relies on the blood and cross of Christ. There is victory in Christ for you right now. Do everything that you can to remain connected to Jesus Christ the Source of your life.

  • In Him is victory for the battle for your soul. In Him is the answer you need for your family and your children.
  • In Christ, no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper.
  • In Christ, we have protection, power, and provision.
  • In Christ, there is real joy, peace, and hope.
  • In Christ, the power of sin is broken.
  • In Christ Jesus you are confidently kept.

Psalm 91:7-8 NKJV A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.

Psalm 91:9-10 NKJV Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

Psalm 91:15-16 NKJV He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.
