When John began writing to the church, he testified, “We beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth,” (John 1:14). In Ephesians 4:7-10, Paul spoke of Christ and the magnitude of His glory. He said, “Grace was given to us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. He ascended above the heavens, that He might fill all things.”

Later when John was on the island of Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ, he was shown a greater revelation of Jesus Christ in His glory.

Revelation 11:15-17 NLT Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven: “The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.” The twenty-four elders sitting on their thrones before God fell with their faces to the ground and worshiped Him. And they said, “We give thanks to You, Lord God, the Almighty, the one Who is and Who always was, for now You have assumed Your great power and have begun to reign.”

It is important for us both now and eternally to know that Jesus Christ is the King of glory and that He has begun to reign. The implications of this are powerful and significant in all of our lives. That He has assumed His power and has begun to reign is a testimony of His glory and victory over all principalities, powers and rulers.

Revelation 19:6  NKJV And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!”

What John was shown on the Isle of Patmos is impactful in all of our lives. He saw the One who had been dead, but the Holy Spirit had quickened His dead body and Jesus was alive. John was given a glorious vision of the Lord Jesus Christ being crowned King of the Kingdom of our God. As he watched, Jesus’ power and majesty fulfilled all of the glory of God.

In Revelation 1:8 NKJV, Jesus made the declaration: “I AM THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA, THE BEGINNING AND THE END,” says the Lord, “WHO IS AND WHO WAS AND WHO IS TO COME, THE ALMIGHTY.”

My spirit within me wants to shout, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!”

Revelation 1:17–18 NIV84 Then Jesus said: …“Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

King Jesus has overcome the last enemy, DEATH, and has arisen triumphant.  John beheld Christ’s return to heaven to claim His throne and He is reigning forever.

Alleluia! The LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT REIGNS!

On our Lord’s coronation as King of Kings, loud voices are heard in heaven. This is the jubilant praises of multitudes of angels – seraphims, cherubims, and all the hosts of heaven.

Will you add your voice to that praise? “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!”

Something begins happening within the host of believers when we begin declaring Christ’s victory.

Revelation 11:15-17 NIV84 “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign for ever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God saying: “We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One Who is and Who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.”

Declare it from the housetops, King Jesus Christ reigns. Jesus Christ is now King of Kings and Lord over all. Jesus defeated principalities and powers, and plundered and destroyed them in the cross. When He came out of the grave victorious over hell, death and the grave, He arose in power. When God the Father received Christ back into glory, He gave Him a Name that is above all names. Jesus Christ has been crowned King and Lord of all. All power in heaven and on earth belongs to Him.

In the Old Testament, David blessed the Lord and spoke of His glory and majesty.

1 Chronicles 29:11 NLT Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.

Now Jesus is being revealed with all of that fulness of greatness, power, glory, victory and majesty.

Colossians 1:19 NKJV For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell.

Colossians 1:19  NET For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in the Son.

Think about this! All of the fullness dwells in Jesus Christ.

When Paul had a vision of Christ as King and Lord of all, he spoke of Christ’s exceeding greatness.

Colossians 1:16 NIV84 For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him.

In Ephesians, he began telling believers they may know and understand this greatness that is in Christ.

Ephesians 1:19–23 NKJV What is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Here is an invitation from the Holy Spirit for you to really know Jesus Christ.

  • He no longer is a babe in a manger.
  • JESUS is not a lowly meek Nazarene.
  • He no longer is rejected and despised by men.
  • He is no longer suffering and in great agony.

Jesus Christ is the King of Glory. He arose from the grave in resurrection power and has ascended to His everlasting throne. He received all power and dominion and is ruling and reigning over all the Kingdom of God.

Colossians 2:15 NET Disarming the rulers and authorities, He has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

  • We need to know more of Jesus Christ.
  • We need more of His victory, power and life.
  • We need more of His Spirit and presence.
  • We need to know Him in His glory and authority.

Revelation 12:10 NIV84 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.”

King Jesus sits on His throne in all His awesome power and glory with all of the hosts of heaven worshiping at His feet. God has bestowed on Him all the powers of the Godhead. King Jesus has bruised and defeated Satan, and has conquered death and hell. All the principalities and powers in heaven and on earth are bowing down to His might and majesty.

He is the King of Glory.

You need to know today that Christ Jesus is ruling and reigning in AWESOME POWER AND GLORY. All of creation responds to His voice and the universe is under His control. All the forces of the spirit world must bow to Him. Don’t get flustered and upset at the kingdoms and powers of this world. Don’t lose hope when troubles and trials come. Jesus Christ the King of Glory has conquered and is conquering.

Isaiah 40:15 NIV84 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.

Isaiah 40:17 NIV84 Before Him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by Him as worthless and less than nothing.

Jesus Christ is King and He is Lord. “Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Too often we are blinded to the present glory of Christ’s reign and victory. You need to know that the Lord Whom you serve is the conquering King and His enemies are defeated.

It is important to our faith to see Him as the reigning King. Don’t assume for a moment that the enemy of the church and the enemy of your soul has not been defeated. The adversary does not have the upper hand over your life. It is important for us to see Jesus in His glory and power.

Why is it so important for us to see Jesus in His glory and power?

2 Corinthians 3:16 NIV84 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Do you see the impact that it has on believers who begin seeing Jesus as He really is? When we really see Him, we will be changed. Every day we are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory. This is a progressive transformation in our lives as His glory is revealed in us by the Holy Spirit. As the veil is removed from the bride of Christ, we will be transformed every day. This glory of Christ is being revealed in us by the Holy Spirit. We should be noticing the glory of Jesus Christ working in us.

Watch the impact that this has on us.

1 Peter 3:12 NKJV For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers.

Every time we pray, the King of glory engages His eternal powers on our behalf. All the fullness of the Godhead is being used on our behalf. We are standing in His presence and we are on Holy ground. All of the power of heaven and earth is present to help us in our times of need.

Jesus Christ is coming to your aid as KING and LORD. God crowned Him King and set Him at His own right hand in a position of power.

When we surrender to Him, we are transformed out of the kingdom of darkness into His marvelous kingdom of light. Our sovereign God rules and reigns on our behalf.

Every Satanic attempt to touch us should cause us to rise with spiritual indignation and proclaim VICTORY in JESUS. We are children of the King of this Universe. Jesus Christ, the King of Glory, has given us the use of His almighty and powerful name.  We are not weak and confused children. We walk around in this world bearing His name.

  • Do you believe He has been given a Kingdom?
  • Do you believe that He has taken dominion over all?
  • Do you believe that He now reigns Lord of all?
  • Do you believe that He has all the power of the Godhead in His heavenly body?
  • Do you believe He has overcome the devil and his forces?
  • Do you believe He has conquered death?

If Jesus Christ is King, then He has all power. All in heaven and earth and everything under the earth must BOW to His power.

This King of kings has taken residence in us. He is both my King and Lord. He not only reigns in heaven, He reigns in our hearts and lives. All things are under His authority and dominion.

We must understand the impact this has on our lives! We are not the defeated and distressed. We are not fighting a losing battle against temptation and evil. We are not the prey of the enemy. We have a King who reigns in power and He is the Lord of all of the Hosts of heaven.

The Lord has TAKEN ALL DOMINION.

Psalm 99:1–3 NET The Lord reigns! The nations tremble. He sits enthroned above the winged angels; the earth shakes. The Lord is elevated in Zion; He is exalted over all the nations. Let them praise your great and awesome name! He is holy!

You need to know that the Lord reigns! His armies are mighty in battle and able to save.

Elisha saw that army of the Lord: 2 Kings 6:17 Behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

When David saw the chariots of the Lord, he said: Psalms 68:17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them.

You need to know that the Lord encamps around about His people.

Psalm 24:7–10 NIV84 Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is He, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty— He is the King of glory. Selah

What did the Lord mean when He said, “I will be in their midst?” He is in our midst as a reigning King of Glory.

Isaiah 40:5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see [it] together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].

He is encamped about your house. There is victory in His grasp. He has come conquering and to conquer. We who are redeemed should begin making joyful, thunderous praise to our King.

HE IS THE KING OF GLORY. The Lord of Victory is in your midst!
