The Trumpet of God — In Zion
Throughout the history of Israel, the trumpet was blown for several reasons. It was used to regulate the journeys of the hosts of God’s people. The trumpet was sounded to call people to worship and to sacrifice on the day of the feast. When the people were called to assemble for war or in cases of great danger, the trumpet was sounded. In the seventh month on the first day of the month, the people celebrated a sabbath-rest and a holy convocation with blowing of trumpets. Then on the tenth day of the seventh month, on the Day of Atonement, they were to sound the trumpets of Jubilee throughout all the land. Jubilee was a time of liberty throughout all the land for all its inhabitants. When Israel made their final march around the walls of Jericho, the seven priests that were before the ark of God blew their trumpets and the people shouted. Then the walls of Jericho fell flat and God gave His people great victory.
Joel 2:1 NKJV Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand.
The Old Testament prophet of God was shown a time that is coming when impending danger will come across the whole land. He was shown a time of great trouble that is coming in the last days. To prepare for the day of the LORD, Joel prophesied by the word of the LORD, “Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain!”
The Lord Jesus Christ spoke about the second coming often.
In one of His messages in Luke 21:25 NKJV Jesus said: “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
Luke 21:26 NKJV men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Luke 21:27-28 NKJV Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
These events should be enough for someone to lift the trumpet to their mouth and sound an alarm. Joel said, “the day of the LORD is coming.” Jesus said, “when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” It is necessary for each of us to take up the sound and spread the message throughout the land, the Day of the LORD is coming and is even at hand.
Matthew 24:27 NKJV For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Matthew 24:31 NKJV And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
This is not going to happen in secret or behind closed doors. God is preparing for some major changes that are about to sweep across the face of the whole earth. You need to be prepared for what is going to happen.
The next major event that is going to happen is the resurrection of the dead and rapture of the church.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 NKJV Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
What has been prophesied and promised is going to unfold when the LORD comes from heaven with clouds and great glory.
Revelation 1:7 NKJV Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
His return will be in the same manner in which the disciples saw Him ascend into heaven after His resurrection. The second coming of Christ will be so momentous that even the dead will see Him in His glory. Jesus said, “For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be,” (Matthew 24:27).
Two major things will happen in that moment.
First, those who are ready for His appearing will shout just like the Israelites did when they walked around Jericho for the last time.
It will be a shout of victory and celebration. We will shout for joy and victory because the King of Glory is coming to catch His waiting bride away. We will shout for joy that our troubles on this earth are over.
Second, all of the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him.
Why will they mourn? They will realize that this is the Christ that they rejected. They will know in that moment that they were not ready for His appearing.
The next seven years will be momentous for those who have been caught away to be with the Lord and for those who remain on this earth.
All of those who are raised to meet Christ in the air shall enjoy the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Revelation 19:7-8 NKJV Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
Revelation 19:9 NKJV Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
This will be a time of great rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. The Marriage Supper will be gloriously filled with the sights and sounds of all the saints and angels worshipping God. Revelation 5:9-11 tells us those around the throne of God sang a new song about being redeemed to God by the blood of Christ out of every tribe, tongue, people and nation. Everyone in heaven will be present to celebrate the Wedding Supper of the Lord Jesus Christ. This will be a time of great joy and rejoicing with a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!” God has planned this greatest celebration for His Son for all that He has accomplished. The words of their exhalation and praise begin with a great “Alleluia!” “Alleluia” means, “Praise Jehovah!” This is the most celebrated and joyful event of praising God and the Lord Jesus Christ in all of history. The “Praise the Lord” is accompanied by reminders of Who God is and what He has done. “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!” Everyone present will have reason to celebrate what God has done for them through their Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. The hosts of heaven will celebrate the wonders of God’s salvation, unfathomable mercy and amazing grace. At this time, the completion of God’s salvation and our redemption will be fully realized.
Those who remain on this earth will experience great tribulation the likes of which have never been seen.
For seven years the world will be under the sway of Satan and his Antichrist. Trouble will come in such a measure that men’s hearts will fail them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth. During that time, the whole earth shall be shaken and there will be nothing that restrains the evil that proceeds from Satan and every vile thing. The level of trouble, death, famine, war, unrest, and evil will be greater than witnessed throughout all of the ages of mankind.
About the time that all seems to be lost, the Lord Jesus Christ will appear on a white horse with the armies in heaven clothed in fine linen, clean and white.
Revelation 19:11 NKJV Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun, at the trumpet call. So lift your voice, it’s the year of Jubilee and out of Zion’s hill salvation comes. When John saw Him, He had many crowns on His head and He had a name written that no one knew except Him. The many crowns reveal the exalted position of Jesus Christ as the conquering King and the victorious Lord. He has unlimited and sovereign authority to conquer all of the kingdoms of the earth.
On His robe and on His thigh a name will be written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Jesus Christ, the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS will bring an end to Satan’s reign and Christ will rule and reign on this earth for 1,000 years.
It is time for every believer to take up the trumpet and make a clear sound.
Joel 2:1 NKJV Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand.
